Brenda Heenan

TOPIC: Dividing Perennials . Learn why, how and how often to divide perennial plants and how to keep your soil and plants healthy through the process.  Here is an opportunity to ask your questions  and get some helpful advice from local experienced gardeners.

Participants are invited to bring clumps of their over-grown plants for some hands-on assistance.   (Note: please do not bring clumps of ornamental grass, which are too difficult to divide in this setting).  Pots and soil will be provided.  Be prepared to bring your plant divisions home with you – a box or plastic bags will be useful.

Extra plants may be donated to the BDHS plant sale being held May 26, 2018 from noon – 2 pm  at 1 Bartley Drive (at the corner of Old Church Road, east of Humber Station Road).

SPEAKER:  Brenda Heenan practiced organic horticulture for more than 30 years as full service estate gardener – designing and maintaining perennial gardens and container displays for clients.
